Tyler Water Utilities is investing in critical infrastructure to improve water pressure, reduce stress on the distribution system during peak demand, and support long-term community growth.
A new elevated water storage tank is under construction near State Highway 155, located off Earl Campbell Parkway between Highway 155 and Loop 323. Designed to hold between 1.5 and 2 million gallons, the composite-style tank, featuring a concrete column and steel bowl, will primarily serve the upper-pressure plane of the water system. Once completed in fall 2027, the tank will provide critical support to maintain pressure during high-demand periods and enhance the overall reliability of water service.
This project is being led by engineering firm Halff, which recently developed a comprehensive Water Distribution Master Plan. The study used a system-wide hydraulic model to identify existing constraints and prioritize improvements across the next 25 years. Presented to the City Council in fall 2023, the study helped determine the best location for the new tank and associated upgrades.
The project will be delivered in two parts:
Construction of the elevated storage tank
Installation of new transmission mains to efficiently distribute water from the tank throughout the system.
Tyler Water Utilities remains committed to delivering reliable water service through thoughtful planning, modern technology, and strategic long-term improvements.
