West Mud Creek Stream Restoration
We took action to address erosion problems caused by two tributaries of West Mud Creek near the Glenwood Church of Christ. We contracted Baker & Company Construction, LLC, for erosion remediation work totaling $3,388,043. This project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
The work stabilized the channel bottom and banks of Tributary A and Tributary A-1, ensuring the safety of both public and private properties in the area.
Additionally, community members on the eastern side of the tributary faced risks from ongoing erosion of the stream banks. Downstream, the stability of the outfalls from two storm drains had also been compromised.
Erosion issues were addressed using gabion baskets, gabion blankets, turf reinforcement mats, and rock riprap. We replaced and repaired failing stormwater outfalls while also improving access for inspection and maintenance.
The project began in Spring 2025 and was completed in September 2025. It was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
